Happy 4th of July everyone! Since we’re right in the middle of wedding season, you can expect quite a few wedding, bridal shower, and bachelorette party posts in the next couple months. I normally wear short cocktail dresses to weddings but was instantly drawn to this dress when I saw it on the BHLDN website. As soon as I saw the photos, I was head over heels infatuated and began avidly checking the website for any sales or promotions. Finally, it went on sale and a few days later, it was hanging beautifully in my closet.
The dress is absolutely gorgeous and moves beautifully. I wore it to a good friend’s lovely wedding in New Jersey and danced the night away with J as the dress moved from side to side. The color, French Grey, is stunning, romantic and very whimsical. There’s a certain rustic elegance to the gown and the details, like layers and layers of tulle, a removable sash, and interior boning make it even more desirable. The only downside is that it’s extremely long! I brought it to a tailor to alter the length and it was costly since the dress has four layers of material. The tailor did a fabulous job because the bottom looks exactly the same and I was able to dance without tripping over myself. I was worried that the tulle would snag and the dress would be destroyed after one event but it is well made and survived the night with no unfortunate mishaps.
