To make this more than just a plain black outfit, I added nude to the mix. I love the romantic look of nude and black.  Though the skirt is relatively girly, this color combination makes it more sophisticated and sexy.  I think at one point nude may have been overlooked for being dull or unimaginative but there is so much you can do with this color.  With such a clean and minimalist look, it is a wonderfully versatile color that can offer endless possibilities, particularly when paired with black. There is something about neutral tones that make me feel feminine, chic, and fashion forward.

I love a full skirt. This skirt is a more subtle version of the traditional wide tulle skirt.  I love the way it moves as I walk and the way it makes me feel like a modern day ballerina. Wearing muted vertical stripes is a nice and subtle way to create a more thinning look. To add some texture to the outfit, I paired the striped feminine skirt with a lace top.  Lace is a great element to incorporate in your outfits, for the week or weekend. I also love the unexpected open back of the dress. I’ll let you in on a little secret…the top is actually a dress!  If you want to widen the possibilities in your closet, reexamine your column dresses and see if they can function as tops as well.  There, you just extended your closet for free.:)

Another nude and black combination you can try is black skinny jeans with a nude top and black blazer with pointy-toed nude or black shoes.  That goes for makeup also.  My favorite makeup look is black smokey eyes and a nude lip.
