Philly Gems: Fishtown & Northern Liberties

Since moving to Philadelphia in 2011, J and I love exploring the city and discovering new (to us) restaurants. Fishtown and Northern Liberties are two of our favorite areas that both have a great mix of quiet residential areas and vibrant city nightlife. There are so many good foodie spots that we associate with incredible memories and amazing food. Below are some Philadelphia gems I’ve been meaning to share for quite some time. I’ll keep adding to the list as I discover new places.

In Adoration of the Little Black Dress

Part of me feels like it’s boring to adore the little black dress. There are so many other types of clothing to find adoration for in life. Why did I choose the little black dress? It feels too basic and cliché. It even has its own acronym. It’s quite possibly the most universal item of clothing in existence today. It’s somehow simultaneously always on trend and passé at any given moment. It’s everywhere. Yet, I love it despite what I’m afraid it says about me.

Great Coffee Shops in Philadelphia

One of my favorite weekend morning activities is going to a local coffee shop and having a good cup of coffee. Sunday mornings are for taking your time. Here are some of my favorite coffee shops in Philly:

The Last Days of Summer

My Outfit Details: T-shirt: Target | Skirt: Express | Sandals: Rebecca Minkoff via Shopbop | Denim Jacket: Halogen via Nordstrom | Lipstick: Turkish Delight by NARS Ever since I had Perry, I’ve been living in sweatpants and a t-shirt with messy hair and no makeup on. Roses are Red, Violets are Blue

Day two of Independence Day celebrations involved going to Penn’s Landing to see fireworks and stopping by Spruce Street Harbor Park (SSHP) on our way to dinner. SSHP is a gorgeous pop-up park on Columbus Boulevard & Spruce Street with a boardwalk, lily pad gardens, games, food trucks, and pretty much anything else you can think […]

La Vie en Rose

We all have those days when we wake up, stand in front of our closets and think “what can I possibly wear today?” When I’m having one of those mornings, I tend to gravitate towards black and white, my safe haven. In this case, I decided to stray outside my comfort zone and try a […]
