I love experimenting with different items in my closet to create new combinations. I bought this dress last year from BCBG for a wedding and haven’t worn it since, which is the case with a lot of party dresses. I love the dusty rose color and layered skirt so I thought it would make a really beautiful skirt! The raw hem mixed with multiple layers creates a girly but edgy tone, especially with the very pointy charcoal-colored stilettos.
I paired the skirt with a looser fitting sweatshirt to create a fun juxtaposition between a more modern bottom and conservative top. In this case, I wore the dress as a skirt but you can also get creative and wear a dress as a top like in this previous LaptopsAndHeels post. Repurposing your dresses truly maximizes your closet and allows for a more economical cost-per-wear ratio. Speaking of repurposing your closet items, these were my prom shoes! 🙂
