This is one of my favorite looks i’ve ever worn. I love the minimal look of the grey tank dress but it was too cold to wear it alone. I obviously did not have enough patience to wait until next summer so I decided to put it on anyway but with a cozy knit crop sweater on top (which is currently on sale)! You know the feeling you get when you create a brand new look that you never wore before? I was so excited.

I like the idea of layering a little something sexy with another item that is more conservative. I think it creates a great balance and allows me to wear my summer dresses in the winter. I never liked the idea of wearing clothes only during certain seasons or limiting some items to your work wardrobe and others for the weekend. It really just depends on how you style each particular piece. For example, I often wear my tank tops on the weekends with a pair of skinny jeans and but I switch it up for work by adding a pair of skinny pants and a blazer instead.

I’m also obsessed with neutrals. What do you think about brown and grey together? My initial reaction was that the colors would clash but they somehow just work. Are there any colors you mixed recently that surprisingly looked great together?

Last but not least, I wanted to include a photo of my little family. I always struggle with how much of myself I should share on LaptopsAndHeels but J and my little girl are so important to me, it doesn’t feel right to leave them off the blog. So here they are! We took a quick family photo before going out to dinner with J’s parents. 🙂 Thank you to all the lovely LaptopsAndHeels readers for your support and sweet comments. It means so much to me. xo, Tanya
