What to Wear When You Work from Home

As of a month ago, I’m back to working full-time in the pharmaceutical industry (more on that coming soon!). One of the many exciting parts about being in the workforce full time again is of course, the new outfits I get to put together. 🙂 Working from home outfits, in particular, can be tricky – in some ways you can be more casual than an office environment but also, there’s a desire to look professional on video calls (at least above the waistline).

I’ve spent many midnights over the past few weeks searching for clothes that give off a chic vibe but are still work-appropriate. These are some ideas I turn to in the morning for a cohesive but casual work look.

The key is to feel good in what you’re wearing and help you feel like your best self. I rely on pieces I can layer and style endlessly and wear for years to come. Everything about them feels chic but practical. Case in point, this Jenni Kayne boyfriend cardigan styled with light denim or black pants is an elevated but casual work from home look.

This round-up is also perfect for when you’re in the office. I have a workshop coming up in a few weeks and I’ll be wearing an Enza Costa half-sleeve crew midi dress with a pair of heeled pointy-toed mules. I’ve had black wide leg pants from Ripley Rader for eight years now and consider them my power pants. 🙂 This beige knit dress with a black blazer and sandals achieves that chic effortless look we all love. For the makeup products I use daily, this post has my Rare Beauty picks. Let me know your favorites in the comments section below!
