One of the most common questions I get on my Instagram is where I shop for toddler boy clothes. Before I had Dylan, I never thought dressing a boy would be this much fun. I’m happy to report that it’s been so satisfying putting his outfits together. He doesn’t have strong opinions yet on what to wear and pretty much goes along with my neutral aesthetic so getting dressed is still an enjoyable process…for now. He is two years old so things could change at any moment.
Over the years, i’ve developed a mental list of my favorite stores for toddler boy fashion. For instance, H&M is always the first online retailer I browse. Their conscious collection consists of sustainable fashion pieces made of soft organic cotton and other recycled materials, an effort by the company to produce more eco-friendly clothing. Furthermore, they have a great selection of trendy pieces. In particular, Dylan loves the interactive t-shirts. They always have some kind of playful component, like sequins or material glasses that you can move back and forth. They also have the cutest toddler band t-shirts that I stock up on each season. Zara is another great option for trendier pieces.
Many of the t-shirts I buy are about $5 so I don’t mind when he inevitably gets them dirty in preschool. For basics, I’ll go to Gap, Target or Old Navy since those stores usually have great discounts. Until he says otherwise, he mostly wears neutral colors such as shades of black, white, grey and sometimes blue to bring out his eyes. There’s just something about a toddler wearing mini adult outfits that makes me smile. Especially when he has his hands in his pocket. All the moms know what I’m talking about.
We get a lot of hand-me-downs from his older cousins (thanks, cousins!) so I’ll usually do a mix of old and new and play around with different outfits. On school days, I typically dress him in a t-shirt and joggers so it’s quick and easy to mix and match. I honestly sometimes wonder if I can pull off some of my kids’ ensembles. They’re two- and four-years-old and rock joggers better than I ever could. Scroll down for my favorite toddler boy clothes picks, including Dylan’s signature band t-shirts.
