L is For the Way you Look Tonight

J and I went to Laurel to celebrate Valentine’s day on Friday. It was delicious. We’ve been watching Top Chef New Orleans for the past couple weeks and were excited to get to meet Nick and taste his food as opposed to listening to the judges comment on it! The gnocchi IMG_3142and lamb dishes were our favorite of the night. The whole meal was delicious. After dinner, we went dancing and accidentally ended up at an Anti-Valentine’s day party. The music was lively and the drinks were good so we just went with it!

Walking in these shoes on sidewalks covered with ice was not fun! Thankfully, I was able to hold on to J for support. At one point, we hit a giant block of ice that stood between the cab and the restaurant so he literally picked me up and carried me over the snow. The things I go through to wear just the right pair of heels. 🙂

Even though it’s fun to go out to dinner and get into the spirit of the holiday, I most appreciate that Valentine’s day doesn’t feel particularly special to me. I can honestly say I feel loved every day, which I’m so grateful for. After 2 years of marriage, we’re still best friends and just have a lot of fun together.

This skirt was a great find at Express. It has a romantic feel and I like how the transparent panel towards the bottom keeps it from being too conservative. Of course, it’s black and white so I had to add some color with my bright pink lipstick. Although J said that doesn’t count.:)

I hope everyone had a great Valentine’s day surrounded by people they love and care about. I’d love to see what YOU wore for Valentine’s day. Share your look on Facebook or Instagram and don’t forget to tag LaptopsAndHeels.:)

Thanks for reading!
