Happy New Year: Stripes & Flare

IMG_4675

Happy New Year everyone! As you can see from these photos, I gravitate towards black and white combinations. This is the Strata Dress by Eva Franco. The designer is known for her classic silhouettes and whimsical features. This dress in particular has a fit & flare shape, which is wonderfully feminine and imaginative (I couldn’t help picturing myself in an Alice in Wonderland setting). Luckily, it’s not too far out and works for reality as well.

The material is heavy!  Because of the weight, it’s a great option for fall and winter weather. I think it would be uncomfortable in extremely hot temperatures. It is very form fitting and smooths out any bumps (particularly helpful after the holidays), providing a really great hour glass shape. It also has ruching at the waist to accentuate your curves and create the look of a tinier waste.

I combined this dress with a black envelope clutch and black pointy-toed pumps. If you’d like to balance out the femininity of this look, I recommend adding a cropped moto jacket. I purchased this dress from Anthropologie but there is currently only one size available. Check out some other options  below in case you’re looking for something similar!

  1. I have a strange question. I was wondering if you could tell me what color the tag is in the side seam? I have been obsessing over this dress but my size is sold out on Anthro’s website. I am contemplating buying one on ebay but I want to make sure it is authentic first 🙂
