I designed our kitchen about five years ago and although I love it, I felt like it needed a refresh. I knew I didn’t want to spend a ton of time or money so I decided to do a kitchen update on a budget using most of the items shown above. Although changes like replacing towels or adding a rug seem insignificant, in totality they made a huge difference. The space looks new and remodeled and I didn’t need to spend a fortune.
small accessories, major difference
Most of these items are from Target and Urban Outfitters. The Target items are from the Hearth & Hand with Magnolia collection and the quality of each item is better than I even expected. They truly have some wonderful pieces. If something is out of stock, click on “notify me when it’s back” and add your email. I did that for a few items, such as the Stoneware Utensil Holder, and was able to purchase what I was looking for within a few weeks.
I’ve also been making it a point of drying dishes immediately after washing them so they don’t stay on the counter for hours. This really helps the counters look clutter-free and I now genuinely enjoy being in the kitchen. Too bad it took me five years to figure that out. All together, it feels like we have a brand new fresh kitchen despite only updating a few accessories and minimizing expenses. Have you made any recent home updates? What helped you stay on budget?
