Easy Outfit Idea: Stripes & Light Denim

I wanted to share an easy outfit idea I’ve been turning to for a casual look – a striped sweater and straight light blue jeans. The night before our family photo shoot a few weeks ago, I was laying out different outfits and thinking about what I liked enough to include in what I hoped to be a timeless family photo. A photo that we’ll one day look back on when the kids are older and remember these precious moments – no pressure. 🙂 My family loves doing this tolerates it. 🙂 Truthfully, we do this once a year and I enjoy looking back on the photos even now. The kids are growing and changing so quickly; I love having beautiful photos of them from each year.

I went with a striped sweater and denim for a more casual look. We took the photos at Rittenhouse Square Park, which is where J and I lived when we first got married. It was the beginning of our life together so it felt like a full circle moment being back years later with our three babies.

This sweater from Parrish LA is a splurge but it’s 100% cashmere and has just the right slouchy oversized fit. Striped sweaters seem to elevate any outfit but finding one with the right cut and pattern is an exercise in patience. I included a few other great options below at different price points. This one also has other colors available if stripes aren’t your thing. The jeans are another find I’m excited about. They are cropped and cut off at the ankle – a great length for heels or boots in the winter. I’m 5’3” for reference and I didn’t have to tailor them. For the shoes, I was between chunky boots and these rhinestone heels but decided to go with something more delicate to balance out the sweater and denim combination.
