A few weeks ago, Concihairge reached out to me to collaborate on a blog post. I was SO excited. I have been following them on social media for a while and fell in love with the concept immediately. Someone coming to my house to do my hair when it’s convenient for me? I’m in.

The idea is a traveling hair salon that brings salon-quality hair to your home. Regional stylists come to you when it works for you, with all the styling essentials you need.

Normally when I get a blowout, I need to make sure I have child care in advance. However, it’s not just about the actual blowout. It’s the time it takes to get dressed to leave the house, the commute time to the hair salon, the actual blowout, and the commute back. With a newborn, it gets more complicated because I need to pump some milk for him in advance to make sure he has something to eat while i’m gone. Plus, i’d rather not use too much pumped milk because i’m trying to build my storage for when I return to work.

I also can’t leave for too long because let’s just say things get uncomfortable for me. There are a lot of moving parts involved. The idea of someone coming to me makes things so much less complicated. I was literally feeding Dylan and Perry was running circles around us throughout the blowout. I’m all about multi-tasking and maximizing the time I have and will try anything to have more time with my kids. The best part? I loved the result.

Monica came over to do my hair and it was such a great experience. As a mama of a 22-month old and a brand new 3-month old, she made the process of getting a blowout so easy. She laid out her tools right in my living room and I went from having my hair in a bun to a cute textured bob within an hour.

I love getting my hair done because it makes me feel instantly put together, even more so than a mani/pedi, a cute outfit, a massage or any other self-care activity. I personally opted for a blowout but the stylists also specialize in color. This includes balayage, color melting, hair painting, highlights and base color. Other services include keratin treatments, blowouts, styling and updos as well as haircuts for the entire family.

I’m currently on maternity leave but once I go back to work, I know i’ll be scheduling some home blowouts with Concihairge either early in the morning before my work day begins or right after work, especially right before upcoming business trips. My mom friends and I often discuss how challenging it is to juggle work, home and life in general. Concihairge helps me feel my best without the added stress that typically involves.
